Tucked away behind the seedy strip of Kings Cross is Ms G's, an industrial-chic Mary Poppins purse of modern Vietnamese cuisine. Forgive me the lack of posts lately but I've needed some time off to restablise my life, this post is from a few months ago and I think they may have changed the menu since.
Ms G’s grilled corn $4 (each)
Something so simple yet good. Ms G's grilled corn is topped with a blanket of cheese and coriander.
Vietnamese steak tartare $18
This was my favourite dish, Vietnamese steak tartare mixed with fresh scallions, crisp fried onion and a raw egg yolk. The prawn crackers were perfect vessel for this Asian version of tartare.
Prawn toast $14
Braised wagyu beef shin, Taiwanese style - with green tomatoes and Thai basil $29
Roasted sambal barramundi $26
DIY sang choy bao $26
Fried baby chicken $16 (half, 4 pieces)
The fried baby chicken is soft and encased in a deep-fried moreish coating. The kimchi mayo just makes it all that better.
Ms G’s lemon tart $12
Simple appearance-wise, Ms G's lemon tart is actually a wonderful deconstructed dessert of lemon curd, streusel, lemon granita, mascarpone sorbet. It's cool and refreshing with a buttery base of biscuit crumbs.
Dirty Passion $12
The dirty passion was amazing, with really lovely flavours and textures. I tasted something that felt like sliced golden kiwi fruit hidden in the passion fruit custard but couldn't be sure, the choc crisps and dark chocolate dirt were a wonderful topping and the unusual coconut sorbet was fragrant and unsweet in a surprisingly enjoyable way.
Stoner’s Delight 2.0 $12
I'm pretty stoned right now so the famous Ms G's dessert, Stoner's Delight (2.0) is looking pretty good to me, a canvas of doughnut ice cream, peanut butter, raspberry jam, candied bacon, potato chips, Mars Bar slice and banana fritter.

I totally fell in love with the lemon tart last time I went! And the fritter in the Stoner's Delight definitely rocked all other fritters.
ReplyDeleteThe Roasted sambal barramundi looks utterly divine. What a great addition to the Sydney Catering and restaurant arena!
